Solar Agriculture Irrigation in Turkey

Project Location: Konya City, Turkey.

 

Project Introduction: Konya city is the capital of Konya province, it lies at South central of Anatolia Plateau towards Konya basin and is also primary heart for agriculture. With the development of economy, Konya has become the biggest city in this basin. The climate is dry and annual precipitation is often less than 300mm. Lack of water has restrained the local agriculture’s development. How to solve water supply problem for agriculture irrigation has become an urgent issue.

 

Solution: Solartech PS370 solar pump system has been used in this project with 21m water head and 25m3 daily water supply. The system provides full irrigation for economic crop such as wheat, corn, barley, cotton and tobacco.

 

Economic Benefits: The system can generate 1460kWh annually. In its 25-year service life, the system will save13.7 tons of coal, reduce emission of CO2 6 tons, SO2 0.27 tons, smoke 0.21 tons and ash 3.6 tons.
